For many years Spain has been at the forefront of renewable energy, starting with Hydroelectric several decades ago, passing by Wind and Solar.

With the recent changes in government support the business case for especially solar energy has been severely eroded. However, due to its wealth of solar resources Spain has the potential of continuing growth in the sector if energy storage is added to the mix.

The University of Navarra consistently ranks as one of the top universities in Europe, rating especially high for its employability index. The university works closely with the private sector to ensure their research and education is up to date with the latest industrial and market trends.

SREnergy Managing Director received the invitation to join some of their last year students as a guest lecturer. The lecture took place at Tecnun, the university’s engineering school based in San Sebastian. Tecnun is well aware that energy storage will soon be the fastest growing area in the energy sector so they want to make sure their students are well equipped to enter this area once they graduate.

¨It was a great honour to join such an engaged group of students, I believe with their knowledge and energy we will see great changes in the Spanish energy sector soon”, Alvaro Garcia-SREnergy Managing Director
